Road Safety Week kicks off in Dibrugarh

Transport Department of Dibrugarh has released an appeal to the public on the occasion of Road Safety Week to follow traffic rules and regulations.They have initiated a name as “Panchasutra”.

According to “Panchasutra” the people have to follow major 5 rules for running smooth traffic.

They are.
1)Do not drive at high speed
2) Do not drive under the influence of alcohol
3) Drivers and passengers should wear helmets while driving two-wheeled vehicles
4) Do not use mobile phones while driving
5) Front and rear passengers should wear seat belts while driving

The programme was attended by District Commissioner Shri Biswajit Pegu, IAS, Shri Prasanta Phukan,MLA, District Transport Officer and other distinguished persons.

A bike rally was also organized to start the Road Safety Week at the field of Mancotta Road,Dibrugarh.
