Dibrugarh and it’s nearby areas witnessed the winter rains in the early morning on the Christmas Day. Following the rain the temperature came down to 19°C in the daytime and 14°C at night. Days have become colder in some parts compared to previous days, with fall in maximum temperature. The mercury is expected to dip upto 11°C by Thursday. There is also a breeze running around with a wind speed of 10 km/h, giving a chill atmosphere.
Dibrugarh will see a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rains very likely till Wednesday morning. However, the city is likely to get colder as the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 20 and 11 degrees Celsius respectively in coming days.
The forecast by meteorological experts add that the city’s temperature may dip further and Dibrugarhians may continue to feel the chill. Light to moderate rainfall may continue for the next two days in some parts of the region with an estimated rainfall to be – Pasighat (9.6mm), N Lakhimpur (6.8mm), Itanagar (2.7 mm), Dibrugarh (6 mm).
