APDCL signs MoU with NLC India for 1,000 MW solar power in Assam

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NLC India Ltd and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for 1,000-MW renewable power projects in Assam in presence of Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi and CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma .

The projects will mark a quantum leap in State’s capacity to generate green power.The union minister stated that this project is expected to generate jobs in the state and further said at present the power demand in the country and also in the states is increasing due to rapid electrification, and this initiative will boost the power sector in the state.

As per the MoU signed between NLC India Ltd and @apdclsocial, a JV will be set up for generating 1,000 MW renewable power in Assam where Government of Assam will hold 49% stake and 51% by NLC India Ltd. The project will entail a total investment of ₹5,000 cr, CM Dr. Himanta BIswa Sarma tweeted.
