Jagdeep Dhankhar is elected as the 14th Vice-President of India

NDA candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar become the 14th Vice-President of India by defeating Opposition nominee Margaret Alva in Vice Presidential Election 2022 Polling. Total 725 votes polled, Dhankhar got 528 votes, Alva got 182 and 15 votes were found to be invalid.

Jadgeep Dhankhar has served as the Governor of West Bengal in past and a jat leader from Rajasthan with a socialist background.

The term of office of M Venkaiah Naidu , Vice-President of India , is ending on August 10. President Droupadi Murmu & Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi congratulated Jagdeep Dhankhar on his win in Twitter.
