Hollongi Greenfield Airport has been renamed as Donyi – Polo Airport in Itanagar ,the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, India . This airport will be operational from 15th of August to mark the 75 years of India’s Independence. The decision to rename this airport was approved by chief minister Pema khandu in a cabinet meeting . After that the name of the airport was officially changes into “Donyi-Polo Airport”. On 9th of February, 2019 Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the airport.
In a major push to healthcare, the Cabinet today decided to set up ICUs and Paediatric Care Units in Arunachal Pradesh.

Spread over an area of 320 hectares, the Greenfield Airport once completed, would be able to accommodate narrow-body jets like the Airbus A321 in the first phase.

Donyi-Polo, literally translated means Sun-Moon, is an animist religion of the Tani and other Tibeto-Burman people in Arunachal Pradesh. Sun and Moon represent female and male energy forces.
