The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday (April 20) said that heavy rainfall spells over Assam and other Northeastern states likely to continue during next five days.According to the IMD, under the influence of strong southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal to northeastern States at lower tropospheric levels:
Fairly widespread rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds during next 5 days.
Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Assam-Meghalaya during 20th-24th April and over Arunachal Pradesh on 22nd April, 2022.
