Dibrugarh University’s NSS Cell Observes National Girl Child Day

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the NSS Cell of Dibrugarh University observed the National Girl Child Day 2022 on January 24, 2022. The Day was observed online because of the third wave of the Covid 19 pandemic. The programme was held with support from the Nazir Azmal Memorial College of Education, Hojai and Digboi College. The NSS Units of the Colleges under the NSS Cell of Dibrugarh University took active part in the programme in which close to 150 girls were felicitated for their achievements in the fields of sports, art, culture, social work, etc. The girls were identified by the NSS Units.

The programme was addressed by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Prof. L K Nath and the Registrar of Dibrugarh University, Prof. Jiten Hazarika. Both of them appreciated the initiative of the NSS Cell to felicitate the girls and applauded the contribution of the girls. The welcome address was given by Dr. Devid Kardong, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University while the Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Himadri Barman, Assistant Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, Dibrugarh University. The programme was hosted by Dr. Kishor Haloi, Programme Officer, NSS Unit II, Digboi College.
