Rony Das, a security engineer from Assam, has won a USD 5000 bounty from Google for reporting a vulnerability in their Android platform.

Rony Das, who has been interested in information security since a young age, reported the vulnerability to Google in May of this year. As a one-time exception, the top tech company recognised the security researcher’s efforts and awarded him USD 5000 (approx. Rs 3.7 lakh).

“As a thank you for your efforts, we would like to offer you a $5000 discretionary reward.” “Please keep in mind that this is a one-time exception to our standard procedures as a thank you for the high-quality submission and follow-up information you provided,” Google wrote in an email to Das.
