As the New Year picnic season is kicking in, the Assam government has issued new guidelines to minimize any unfortunate road accidents this year. In its guidelines,the administration has stated that the license of anyone found driving under the influence of alcohol will be revoked immediately. Also a sum of Rs 10,000 will be fined to the offenders.
To implement these orders the administration has decided to deploy a taskforce to keep vigilance and prevent any unfortunate incident from 31st December onwards.Also the government has warned against playing of loud music by picnic groups and if reported will be punished accordingly
