In an exclusive interview with Dibrugarh 24×7, the Joint Secretary of Assam Cricket Association, Kamakhya Saikia discussed about the current scenario and future prospective of Cricket in Assam. Saikia, a keen cricketer and sports lover, has been associated with cricket for the last 30 years. He has represented his district at several regional cricket tournaments. He also used to play professional cricket in England for seven years.

Talking about the scenario of Cricket in Assam, he said that with better facilities and infrastructure, the state Cricket team will emerge as of the one of the best teams in the country.
He also mentioned about the different ongoing construction of cricket grounds across the state. “Around 20-25 cricket grounds will be ready in next two-three years,” he added.

Saikia further requested the budding cricketers of the state to be professional and disciplined. He also mentioned that the association can only give them the facilities, however, it is the responsibility of the players to promote themselves in the best possible way.
