Paddy procurement for the Kharif season will begin shortly for farmers in Sonitpur district. The procurement centres in the district will be administered by three organisations: the Food Corporation of India (FCI), the Assam Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd (AFCSCL), and the Assam State Agriculture Marketing Board (ASAMB).

Farmers will be required to present a Farmer’s Certificate from the relevant ADO, as well as land data, if they hold land in their own name.If indeed the submitted paddy sample meets the standards, the farmer will be given a tentative date to deliver the paddy to the PPC for sale. For Kharif Paddy, the MSP (Minimum Support Price) has been set at Rs. 1940/Quintal.

The paddy grain must fulfil the following requirements: The moisture level should be less than 17%, and the grain should be free of insects and fungi. Additionally, the paddy grain should be cleansed of chaffy grains and other undesired stuff.
