The Meghalaya government is hopeful that they will be able to reduce the state’s current number of areas of difference.
The Chief Ministers of Assam and Meghalaya have expressed a desire to resolve this long-pending issue in the best interests of both states.
“I don’t know how many areas we can resolve out of six, but I’m sure at least a few will be able to resolve.”

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, the Regional Committee of Meghalaya was supposed to submit its findings to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. However, the report is now expected to be submitted this week.
